INDY TRAIL COLLECTIVE

INDY TRAIL COLLECTIVE LOGO

Indy Trail Collective, formerly HMBA Indy, is the new name for the volunteer-led chapter that oversees the mountain bike trails in Indianapolis: Fort Harrison, Town Run Trail Park, and Southwestway.

This name change reflects the current evolutionary state of the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (HMBA) and does not signify any changes in leadership or mission for the Indy Trail Collective or HMBA.

Indy Trail Collective chapter will also have members on the HMBA board. The HMBA remains a unifying organization, currently comprising 3 chapters: O’Bannon Woods Mountain Biking, Indy Trail Collective, and Tippecanoe Mountain Bike Association. Under the HMBA banner, each chapter functions autonomously while sharing operating costs. All chapters elect some of their own members to the HMBA board, which in turn meets regularly to discuss how the chapters can assist one another and promote mountain biking more broadly.

The Indianapolis group renaming themselves Indy Trail Collective not only retains clarity in terms of conveying their connection to the Indy community, it further clarifies how the HMBA currently functions: local chapters work with their communities while supporting one another to advocate for mountain biking across the state.
